Simone Rojas-Pick, manager and programming coordinator at Lonsdale Gallery, will
discuss Red Light, the gallery’s monumental Feature Exhibition for the 2018 Scotiabank
CONTACT Photography Festival, which includes over 300 hand-printed photographs.
She will highlight a selection of works by photo-based artists from Canada and abroad
included in the exhibition and discuss the significance of the resurgence of processes
from the pre-digital era among artists and collectors. Introducing audiences to
discourses from art history and visual culture, she will engage with questions about what
this shift means within our contemporary image making economy, while share her
insights as a curator about what is involved in actualizing a project of this scale and
scope.
